Company News – August 2025

In today’s advanced semiconductor and electronics manufacturing, precision electronic assembly, precision machining and micro–nano manufacturing, precision measurement, life sciences, aerospace, and other high-tech industries, motion control requirements are becoming increasingly demanding. These applications call for features such as high acceleration and deceleration, high speed with precise positioning accuracy, low static jitter and following error, and high throughput. To meet these challenges, engineers often adopt a centralized control scheme. In such a system, the motion controller closes the speed and position loops using high-resolution feedback to achieve precise synchronization, while the drive handles the current loop (torque or thrust control). The controller typically outputs single or dual analog commands to regulate the drive’s current and torque. Because of this architecture, the current loop performance of the drive is critical, requiring high bandwidth, low current noise, fast current rise time, and excellent linearity.

E-Motion America Inc. provides AMC China products to our valued customers. Advanced Motion Controls China Co., Ltd.’s AxCent™ series analog drives are non-digital architecture servo drives available in panel-mount, PCB-mount, and vehicle-mount configurations. The AxCent™ analog servo drive is specifically engineered for centralized control, delivering fast response and high bandwidth. The product name “AxCent” is derived from Axes for Centralized Control, reflecting its core design philosophy. The AxCent™ platform incorporates multiple architectural enhancements, combining decades of industry experience with the latest advancements in modern servo system design.

Analog drives (AxCent™ series) have the following advantages that distinguish them from other brands and other types of drives:
  • Distortion-free sampling of input analog commands and feedback (direct processing of analogues without conversion to digital reprocessing via AD)
  • Internal current and speed closed loop is implemented by pure hardware (no DSP involved in closed-loop control, faster response)
  • Support A&B dual 120° sine command signal (commutation is implemented in the controller, allowing for more flexible commutation algorithms to be explored)
  • High current loop bandwidth (up to 5KHz, load-dependent) and low current noise
  • Easy adjustment (tuning via potentiometer and DIP switch)
  • High reliability and very low failure rate
  • A wide range of mounting forms are suitable for all types of applications

Main application on equipments and markets

  • High-precision turntable
  • Crystal growth equipment and coordinate measurement
  • Micro stage drive for high-precision motion table
  • Active vibration isolation table
  • Wafer inspection
  • Package Test of ICs (Die Bonding & Bonding)
  • Tensile test & fatigue test of materials
  • Applications where coils are driven to control magnetic fields (ion implantation equipment, vacuum ion coatings, magnetic levitation bearings, etc.)

In centralized control schemes, the high performance requirements placed on drives sometimes lead engineers to consider using linear amplifiers. While linear amplifiers offer excellent bandwidth and low interference, their drawbacks—such as low power, low efficiency, large size, excessive heat generation, and high cost—often create serious challenges for engineers.

The AMC China analog drives address these issues by continuously sampling the input analog signal and current, directly processing the analog through a pure hardware circuit to achieve closed-loop control. It follows the same control principles as a linear amplifier, but with one key difference: the output stage is driven by PWM switching. This design provides both high power and high efficiency, combining the strengths of linear amplifiers with those of PWM switching drives.

For engineers who value the performance of linear amplifiers but are frustrated by their low efficiency, heat, size, and cost, the AMC China analog drives offer an ideal solution.
